Ingram's Research Statement:

My research centers around environmental/analytical chemistry. In our laboratory, we are interested in learning how uranium and other trace metals are transformed in the environment. In the past we (or others) have determined that there is variation in the water chemistry on the Navajo Reservation. This led us to question whether uranium is also transformed under conditions present on the Navajo Reservation. To investigate these questions, we are currently working with communities on the Navajo Reservation to sample and analyze unregulated water wells. In the future, we hope to survey the communities as to their water usage. Current student projects in my laboratory include hydrogeology of the sampled wells, sediment characterization of samples collected near the unregulated wells, characterization of organic species in the wells, and survey of the community related to their water usage.
